is also known as the great War or Global War. it's started in 28th July 1914 to
11 Nov 1918.Total Death 17 million among them 11 million Combatants & 6
Million Civilians. It's one of the deadliest conflicts.

Development of Large & New Naval Ships & Britain- Germany

System:- Multiple Alliances in Europe since 19th century to maintain Balance of
Power. Secret treaties with the countries, Triple alliance 1882 between Germany
Austria-Hungary & italy. After starting war italy left that alliance.
Triple entente 1907 between France, Britain & Russia.
3. Imperialism:-
Every European countries want make different colonies in Asia, Africa. Britain
leads everyone capture different Areas. To develop vast resources for manpower
at disposal for the great War.
4. Nationalism:-
Europe swept by a nationalistic wave in 19th century. Germany italy &
Baltic states nationalistic favour belief in the Glory of War.
Events Leading to War( Called july Crisis):
- Archduke Franz ferdinand of Austria- Hungary & his wife were killed by Bosnian nationalist & Serbian agents on 28th June 1914 who will be next prince of Austria- Hungary Empire.Its one of the main important things leads to world war.
- Austria-Hungary sends humiliating terms to Serbia.
- Russia
mobilises in the support of Serbia(due to Ethnicity).
- Germany gives support to Austria-Hungary Empire full support looks like blank cheques.(a/c to 1883 treaty).
- Austria-Hungary & Germany declare war on Serbia.
- Russia Declare War on Germany.
- France Declare War on Germany.(a/c to 1904 treaty).
- Germany armies marches into Belgium routes to france.
- Britain Declare War on Germany.
- Germany gets initial Success in france & Great Success against Russian Armies on Easter front.

a planned offensive further north. Second Battle of the Marne turned the tide
of war decisively towards the Allies, who were able to regain much of France
and Belgium.
